Guide
SkillHub Documentation
Discover, install, and share AI Agent Skills. This guide covers browsing the marketplace, CLI install, Zip install, and publishing.
What is SkillHub
SkillHub (NeweggHub) is a marketplace for AI Agent capabilities. Each Skill is a bundle with SKILL.md and resources, giving Cursor, Claude Code, and other assistants new domain skills.
- Browse & search: filter by keyword or category under All Skills
- Install: via CLI or Zip — drop into your Agent skills folder
- Publish: sign in to upload Skills for your team or the community
Quick start
From zero to your first Skill in three steps:
Step 1
Find a Skill
Open All Skills, search or browse Newegg picks / trending, then open a detail page for overview and install instructions.
Step 2
Install locally
On the detail page, choose CLI or Zip under Install. Copy the skill folder to ~/.cursor/skills or your Agent skills path.
Step 3
Use in your Agent
Restart or reload your Agent, then invoke the Skill in chat (exact steps depend on your Agent product).
CLI install
Use npx to install the CLI from this Hub (/cli/newegghub-cli.tgz) — no npmjs.com required (internal deploy):
npx --yes "https://skills.newegg.com/api/hub/cli/download" add newegg-laptop-finder --server https://skills.newegg.com -y
# Or pass the skill detail URL
npx --yes "https://skills.newegg.com/api/hub/cli/download" add https://skills.newegg.com/skills/newegg-laptop-finder -y
# Optional: pin version or target directory
npx --yes "https://skills.newegg.com/api/hub/cli/download" add <slug> --server https://skills.newegg.com -y --version 1.0.0 --target-dir ~/.cursor/skillsInstall path is auto-detected in this order (override with --target-dir):
~/.agents/skills~/.cursor/skills~/.claude/skills
Zip install
Prefer not to use the terminal? On any Skill detail page, switch to Zip install:
- Download the Zip package
- Extract and keep the internal folder layout (see the directory tree on the page)
- Copy the extracted skill folder into your Agent skills directory
Publish a Skill
After sign-in, click Publish in the header. Upload a valid Skill bundle (SKILL.md + manifest). Once approved, others can search and install it.
Go to publishManage versions, view install stats, or unpublish from your Dashboard.
Skill Hub supports the following sign-in options:
- GitHub
- Sign in to publish, favorite, and manage Publisher Skills
Skill authoring spec
A Skill published to SkillHub is a folder (zipped) that must satisfy both bundle layout and manifest metadata.
- SKILL.md is required at the bundle root or a shallow path — Agents read this for instructions
- manifest.json mirrors the publish form: name, slug, version, tagline, category, tags, description, etc.
- slug: lowercase letters, digits, hyphens only (e.g. my-skill-name); version: semver recommended (1.0.0)
- Zip limits: single file ≤ 5 MiB, total uncompressed ≤ 100 MiB, ≤ 1000 files, no path traversal
Recommended layout:
my-skill/
├── SKILL.md # Agent 说明(必填)
├── manifest.json # 发布时由表单生成,随 zip 上传
├── scripts/
│ └── run.sh
└── references/
└── example.md{

}Public API
These endpoints require no auth — for CLI, integrations, or scripts to search and download Skills. Use the same site origin in browser and CLI (e.g. https://skills.newegg.com); Next.js proxies /api/newegghub/* to the SkillHub backend.
Full URL example: https://skills.newegg.com/api/newegghub/skills/public — do not use internal backend URLs as --server.
/api/newegghub/skills/publicPaginated listing of published Skills. Query: q, category, source (user), sort (installs | newest | favorites), page, page_size.
GET /api/newegghub/skills/public?page=1&page_size=12&sort=installs&q=banner

"total_pages": 4
}/api/newegghub/skills/public/{slug}Single Skill detail including description, changelog, and version list.
GET /api/newegghub/skills/public/my-skill/api/newegghub/skills/public/{slug}/downloadDownload bundle.zip for a published version. Optional version query; defaults to latest published. Returns application/zip stream.
GET /api/newegghub/skills/public/my-skill/download
GET /api/newegghub/skills/public/my-skill/download?version=1.0.0
# Response: application/zip (bundle.zip)/api/newegghub/skills/public/countTotal count of public Skills (optional source filter) — e.g. hero badge.
GET /api/newegghub/skills/public/count

Agent does not see the new Skill after install?
Ensure the folder is under your Agent skills path and contains SKILL.md. Some Agents require a restart or skills reload.
CLI cannot reach SkillHub?
Ensure --server matches the browser address bar (this site: https://skills.newegg.com). For local dev use http://localhost:6003 and ensure frontend + backend are running.
How do I switch language?
